SPHERICEL® Hollow Glass Microspheres are an ideal additive for marine products because the tiny air-filled spheres add buoyancy at minimal weight. The inert, hollow-glass spheres are impervious to water, and will not react to solvents, organic chemicals, acids or alkalis.

SPHERICEL® Microspheres, added to resin formulations, create a syntactic foam with a more uniform, closed-cell structure. They can be used for core materials where a combination of light weight, buoyancy and insulation are desired.

They are used in the manufacture of syntactic foam buoyancy modules and thermal insulation materials for offshore oil and gas applications.
