Cement Additives
Hollow Spheres have been used in the cement industry since the 70’s. The market acceptance and expansion has gone from low density oil well cements to some structural applications.
Hollow Spheres provide improved rheology and in some cases improved cure rates. Additional performance properties include nail ability and screw holding properties for construction materials.
When used in polymer concrete the hollow spheres provide a cost effective alternative without degrading physical properties.
These products are used extensively in Energy Insulative Finishing Systems (EIFS), for exterior finishes helping to provide a low density material.
The spherical particles help provide a barrier for moisture penetration in these applications.
